A Kitchen Display System (KDS) is designed to help kitchens streamline their operations by efficiently tracking and organizing orders, ultimately boosting restaurant productivity. This system replaces traditional printer paper tickets with a digital solution, offering a more modern and efficient approach to order management.
Here’s an article where I discuss how this solution is implemented into the product.
During the design process, we considered the demanding nature of a busy kitchen. Chefs often work in high-pressure situations, and their hands may be oily or wet. To address this, the Kitchen Display System was designed to minimize scrolling and instead focus on tap-based interactions, making it easier and more practical for users to navigate quickly and efficiently.
The Order Display System is customer-facing, helping patrons easily identify and collect their food. To make the experience more engaging and user-friendly, I designed interactive animations that create a dynamic and visually appealing way for customers to track their orders.
